In January 2020 my colleague Blake Shedd and I hosted the conference “ELT 2020: Insights into Theory and Practice for Future EFL Teachers.” Scholars from educational institutions in Austria, Germany, and the USA gave presentations and workshops related to teaching English as a foreign language in secondary education. The conference was targeted at teacher education students, particularly those who study to become teachers of English or other foreign languages.
In 2015 I organised the first conference on "Situating Strategy Use," which attracted academics and practitioners interested in language learning strategies from around the globe. SSU has been hosted biennially since then, and I strongly hope that this tradition will continue.
In May 2014 I hosted the sixth conference for early-career researchers by the Austrian association for language didactics (ÖGSD). The conference was a platform for Master and PhD students to talk about the principles of language teaching and to present their research studies.
